Charles D. “Charlie” Roush Jr.

Charles D. "Charlie" Roush, Jr. Consultant, is a nationally certified Safety Supervisor by NATMI has lectured on the broad subjects of safety and compliance as it relates to motor carrier fleets, is a commercial motor vehicle accident avoidance instructor, and is a licensed commercial motor vehicle operator. Charlie began operating commercial motor vehicles in 1985 and subsequently completed a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. Charlie has experience in the safe performance of dangerous or potentially dangerous tasks and as an educator of the people assigned to perform those tasks safely.

Charlie was a military and fleet training manager on multiple subjects with direct application to commercial fleet safety and the safe transportation of radiological and hazardous materials. Charlie was employed by Knight Transportation, Inc., which has built a strong reputation for safety in the motor carrier industry, as their fleet training manager where he reviewed, updated and authored new materials for the training program, managed the recruiting and training of new drivers as well as driver trainers, and performed duties in the Safety, Operations and Training Departments including dispatch, fleet management and load scheduling inclusive of brokered loads. Charlie has testified relative to motor carrier and fleet standards, compliance and non-compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry standards.

John P. “Jack” Burkert has been involved with all types of motor fleets and motor carriers, specializing in motor coaches (buses), over the last 25+ years, relative to all phases of their operations inclusive of education and training of supervisory personnel and drivers. Mr. Burkert has over 20+ years of experience in analyzing and evaluating traffic crashes and received reconstruction education through attendance at numerous seminars. His course work include topics ranging from basic evidence identification and interpretation, photography, time distance analysis, speed and skid calculations through grid photography, lamp analysis, tire analysis and heavy vehicle reconstruction. Mr. Burkert has served as an investigator and advisor to the Pennsylvania State Police and held many classes on accident reconstruction at numerous colleges and universities throughout the United States.
